Transformers: Missing Link - Grimlock (Anime Type) (C-13) [Takara Tomy]

Japanese Original Edition, Takara Tomy Transformers

Lost dreams link together across time as the Missing Link series imagines the definitive version of what could have existed in that golden era of transforming robots—this time with Grimlock, the fearless Dinobot commander, as the 13th installment.

First introduced in 1985, the Dinobots made a powerful impact by adding five mecha-dinosaur warriors to an Autobot lineup previously dominated by vehicle-based designs. Now, Grimlock returns in Missing Link form with a completely reimagined design, enhanced by numerous modern upgrades while preserving the spirit of the original. The C-13 edition faithfully recreates his classic anime color scheme, delivering a nostalgic yet refreshed presentation.

Grimlock transforms from a mechanical Tyrannosaurus into robot mode, retaining die-cast construction for a satisfying, premium feel. Both forms feature articulated joints for dynamic posing, and the robot chest has been partially redesigned to reflect differences from the C-12 version. His red saber, inspired by the original toy and overseas comic appearances, is molded in hard plastic to maintain a sharp, defined look. The Double Laser Gun features a distinct two-tone anime-inspired color scheme, while the Missile Launcher includes detachable missiles for added display flexibility.

A worker-type human figure—matching the style included with C-05 Sunstreaker—is also part of the set and can be placed inside the cockpit hatch located on Grimlock’s back in dinosaur mode. As a nostalgic touch, a classic heat-sensitive “secret emblem” is embedded on the body, revealing the legion mark when warmed by touch. The robot’s back is equipped with a stand-compatible joint for action displays using a separately sold base.

Completing the experience, the package features newly illustrated artwork inspired by the original release, along with a collectible card—making this a must-have centerpiece for longtime fans and collectors alike.
