Adopted in 1959 as a modernized version of the Soviet AK-47, the AKM became one of the most widely used assault rifles in the world. The AKMS, its folding-stock counterpart, was designed for paratroopers and tank crews, featuring a retractable metal stock that allows for easier handling in tight spaces. Paired with the historically significant PBS-1 suppressor—still in use today—this configuration reflects a setup well-suited for special operations.

The second rifle included is the AKMSU, an even shorter carbine variant of the AKMS. Equipped with a distinctive muzzle device featuring a gas chamber to ensure proper cycling despite its shortened barrel, and an added foregrip for enhanced control, the AKMSU has long been associated with Spetsnaz forces. However, modern research suggests no confirmed evidence of its official Soviet development, earning it a reputation as a true “mysterious masterpiece” among firearms enthusiasts.

This kit includes both rifles, offering multiple display options. The stocks can be posed open or folded, and you can choose to equip the suppressor or bayonet. Wood-textured components are reproduced in contrasting molded colors for added realism, and the safety lever is molded as a separate movable part.
