From Fujimi’s 1/700 scale series comes the Japanese Navy Battleship Yamato with Ocean Base – In This Corner of the World Ver., a special edition model that captures the majestic appearance of the Yamato entering Kure Naval Port as depicted in the acclaimed film In This Corner of the World.

This kit recreates the Yamato after its April 1944 refit, representing the ship as it arrived in Kure—the setting of the movie. It includes a beautifully molded ocean-style display base in clear green, replicating the color and atmosphere of the sea as seen on screen.

Builders can also reproduce the ship’s modified anti-aircraft armament layout from 1944, featuring the removal of side secondary guns to accommodate increased AA weaponry. (Please note: this kit reflects the ship’s configuration as of October 1944, with slight variations from the film depiction.)

The set includes pre-colored etched parts produced by Pit-Road, featuring UV-printed details to replicate the signal flags flown during Yamato’s arrival at Kure.

The ocean base adds an impressive visual presence when displayed, and the model’s design allows for a paint-free, glue-free assembly thanks to its multi-colored molded parts and snap-fit construction.

When completed, the model measures approximately 396 mm in length, 134 mm in width, and 88 mm in height (including the display base).
