From Fujimi’s Chibimaru Fleet series comes the adorable Akizuki destroyer, returning as a reissued plastic model kit!

The Chibimaru Fleet line transforms Imperial Japanese Navy ships into cute, palm-sized models. Designed with a snap-fit assembly system, this kit requires no glue or paint—thanks to multi-colored molded parts and realistic stickers. With fewer pieces than standard ship models, it’s easy and fun to build for both adults and children.

This version depicts the Akizuki as she appeared upon completion in 1942, before radar equipment was installed. The model features pre-colored parts in warship gray and hull red, and can be assembled as either a full-hull or waterline display type.

The bridge is composed of a three-layer structure, with separate fire control equipment parts for added detail. Deck textures such as linoleum strips and anti-slip patterns are intricately reproduced, rivaling full-scale ship models. The model also includes charmingly stylized main guns, 10cm anti-aircraft guns, and machine guns. Additional equipment such as flagpoles, anchors, davits, and motor launches are included as separate parts.

Sticker sheets provide deck linoleum markings, bridge windows, and funnel caps, while decals include deck patterns and naval flags—making it easy to achieve a detailed finish right out of the box.
