Fine Molds presents a 1/35 scale plastic model of the Type 2 Gun Tank, a unique armored vehicle developed by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II for anti-tank combat using shaped charge shells known as "Ta-dan."

Built on the chassis of the Type 1 and Type 3 medium tanks, the Type 2 was equipped with a modified Type 41 mountain gun, reconfigured as the Type 99 75mm tank gun. Though only around 30 units were produced starting in 1944, they were deployed to homeland defense units in preparation for a potential invasion of Japan.

This kit features a glue-together plastic track system that allows realistic sag, and includes a fully detailed main gun with breech. A same-scale female student figure is also included, adding a historical vignette option for diorama builders. The accompanying guide provides not only assembly instructions but also background information on the real vehicle and the use of shaped charge ammunition by the Japanese Army.
