This model is based on the ship's appearance during Operation Ten-Go in April 1945, the infamous Okinawa suicide mission. The hull parts are designed to be separated at the waterline, allowing you to build either a waterline model or a full-hull version. To accurately depict the design differences from its earlier configurations at completion and in 1944, specialized parts have been included.

The kit is designed for easy assembly with snap-fit parts, requiring no glue. The wooden deck has been molded in a special dark gray color, replacing the traditional wood color. The screw propellers are now molded in a realistic gold color, instead of the previous beige. Additionally, the kit includes a variety of finely detailed etching parts such as handrails, ladders, cranes, the area around the smokestack, Type 13 and Type 21 radars, direction finders, waterproof doors, and even the iconic chrysanthemum crest.

The model comes in 6 molded colors: Kure Naval Arsenal color, hull red, black, white, wood deck color, and dark green. Final size: 379 x 60 x 77 mm (excluding display stand).
