Soundwave returns in Takara Tomy’s Transformers Missing Link series, combining the size and G1 styling of the original toy with updated articulation, additional transformation features, and an extensive selection of accessories.

Soundwave transforms into a stereo cassette player and can deploy compatible cassette units from his chest. While retaining the original proportions and partial die-cast construction, the redesigned joints allow far greater freedom of movement, including kneeling poses and the iconic cassette-ejection stance.

In addition to robot and cassette player modes, Soundwave can transform into the Light Standard Mode seen in the first episode of the animated series, taking the form of a Cybertronian streetlight. Details that were originally represented with stickers are now partially reproduced through sculpting and paintwork, while optional foil stickers are also included.

This release marks the first physical appearance of Scout Robot, a reconnaissance drone-type Cassette Warrior featured in the animated episode “A Prime Problem.” Both Soundwave and Scout Robot feature heat-sensitive Secret Emblems that reveal their faction symbols when warmed with a finger. Each also includes a connection point for a separately sold display stand.

The accessory selection includes the Electric Launcher, Vibration Blaster Gun, Electronic Reconnaissance Pods, Barrier Case, headphones, command microphone, and cable. The headphones are intended for display purposes and are not recommended for actual wear. A newly illustrated retro-style package and a collectible card complete the release.
