The 700 series cars, which have been in service for a long time on the Eizan Railway, have been gradually renovated since 2018.  Car No. 712 began operating as a renovated car in December 2022. The exterior design of Car No. 712's body uses a green color that "expresses the scenery along the line where people and forests live in harmony."
