This particular figure draws inspiration from traditional Chinese mythology: during the ominous Ghost Gate Opening, the chant echoes—
“Mid-July, the gates open… ghosts emerge.”
As darkness falls, two figures appear at the threshold: one in white, one in black. Together, they are known as White and Black Impermanence—keepers of order in the underworld, each bearing copper coins engraved with "Peace Under Heaven" and "Wealth at First Sight."
