From Cube, the beloved quirky musical instrument returns in a brand-new form with the Otamatone Q, an updated model designed for improved ease of play, portability, and quick musical performance.

While keeping the familiar expressive face size of the standard Otamatone, the Otamatone Q features a shortened and widened tail structure that creates a better balance between playability and compact design. The body has also been refined with rounded corners for a more comfortable grip, along with a convenient power indicator light that helps prevent accidental power-on. Despite its smaller and more portable size, the instrument still offers an impressive range of over two octaves, allowing players to perform a wide variety of melodies.

The biggest new addition is the innovative Percussion Mode. By pressing the newly added “Q” button, players can switch modes and transform the Otamatone Q into a playful rhythm instrument. Different areas of the tail produce different percussion sounds, including a bass drum near the tail end, a snare drum in the center, and an agogo-style sound near the face section. This exciting feature adds rhythmic performance possibilities to the traditionally melody-focused Otamatone experience.

Classic Otamatone play features are still fully preserved, including sliding your fingers along the tail to create melodies, opening and closing the mouth to alter the tone, and shaking the body to produce expressive vibrato effects.
