The protagonist of Tenichi has lived in a facility since birth, never knowing their parents' faces. Their solitary life takes an unexpected turn when a boy named Hikaru appears. Hikaru is the protagonist’s lively twin brother, full of energy and mischief. One day, Hikaru makes an unusual proposal:

"How about going to high school in my place?"

The protagonist is stunned by the absurdity of the idea, especially when they learn that the school in question is not just any high school—it’s an all-boys school, and one of the most notorious Yankee (delinquent) high schools in the prefecture.

The Kimigashima family, to which the twins belong, is a strict and traditional household. Their father, a stern and unyielding teacher, has decided that Hikaru must attend the infamous Lion Private School, a place teeming with the most feared and rebellious students in the area. It's a family tradition for the Kimigashima children to endure this school until graduation, as a rite of passage.

Hikaru, unwilling to face the challenge himself, hatches a bold plan: he convinces his quieter twin to take his place. Though hesitant and aware of the dangers, the protagonist knows that defying their father would be unthinkable. Thus begins their journey into the chaotic world of delinquent high school life, navigating treacherous encounters and unexpected bonds, all while concealing their true identity.
