Miffy: Doll Edo Kimekomi - Miffy doll - Yellow Ver. (Limited Edition) [Mataro Doll]

In Japan, there is a custom of displaying figurines of the year's zodiac signs as talismans and lucky charms. Mataro Doll will be releasing "Edo Kimekomi Doll Miffy" as a zodiac decoration in conjunction with next year's Year of the Rabbit. 

“Miffy, an Edo Kimekomi doll,” is a condensed version of the Mataro doll, which has been designated as a traditional craft. 
Miffy is difficult to model because of its simple shape, and we had a hard time expressing the shape accurately.
The base of the cloth is made of paulownia wood, which is also used in traditional crafts. Miffy's clothes are made from floral-patterned cloth from traditional Japanese doll costumes.
Through trial and error by many craftsmen, the adorable Edo Kimekomi doll Miffy was born.

We hope that the Edo Kimekomi doll Miffy, which was created using traditional techniques that have been passed down for approximately 280 years since the Genbun era of the Edo period, will give more people an opportunity to experience traditional crafts.
