Inspired by one of Japan’s most famous UFO cases, the Kofu Incident Alien ver.ZO brings a legendary encounter to life in model form.

On February 23, 1975, two elementary school students in Kofu City reported witnessing an orange flying object before coming face to face with a mysterious being. With multiple sightings and physical traces such as alleged landing marks, the event became nationally recognized as one of Japan’s three major UFO incidents. This plastic model is based on an original sculpture by Genzo Ihara, created for Hobby Japan’s HMS Fantasy Model World: UMA – Unidentified Creatures –. While preserving the key characteristics described in the reports, the design adds a distinctive artistic interpretation, resulting in a retro-futuristic figure that feels nostalgic, eerie, and strangely endearing all at once.
