Hot Toys expands its Comic Masterpiece Series with a powerful addition inspired by Frank Miller’s legendary comic Batman: The Dark Knight Returns—introducing Superman.

First published in 1986, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns tells the story of a 55-year-old Bruce Wayne who comes out of retirement to once again defend Gotham City, despite the toll of age. Meanwhile, Superman—also 55—continues his heroic duties under the authority of the U.S. government. The conflict between the two former allies ultimately leads to one of the most iconic confrontations in comic book history.

This premium 1/6 scale figure stands approximately 34 cm tall and features over 30 points of articulation, allowing for dynamic display options. It includes two newly developed head sculpts: a calm expression with a closed mouth and a battle-damaged version with clenched teeth and blood detail. Both head sculpts feature articulated eyeballs and a reflective eye mechanism, allowing you to adjust the gaze for a more lifelike presence. Each piece is carefully hand-painted to capture the distinctive wrinkles and rugged skin texture depicted in the comic.

The newly designed body recreates the massive, muscular build unique to The Dark Knight Returns interpretation of Superman. His vibrant blue and red costume is meticulously crafted with attention to texture and materials, complete with the iconic chest emblem, yellow belt, and classic red trunks and boots. The cape includes internal wires, enabling dramatic posing and motion.

Accessories include a kryptonite-tipped arrow and a distorted sonic gun, along with multiple interchangeable hands to recreate key scenes from the story. The figure also comes with a specially designed display base featuring a nameplate with Superman’s name and the title of the work.
