The VF-1J/A Valkyrie "Vermilion Platoon," piloted by Ichijo Hikaru in *The Super Dimension Fortress Macross*, is one of the most iconic mecha in anime history. Known for its sleek design and versatile transformation between fighter, GERWALK, and battroid modes, the VF-1J/A played a key role in the early battles of the series. As part of the Vermilion Platoon, Hikaru's Valkyrie symbolizes both his growth as a pilot and the larger conflict against the Zentradi forces.
This is a large model, being a 1/48 reproduction, with a total length of 296.5mm and a total width of 308mm, but it has a relatively small number of parts, so you can assemble it in a short amount of time and then focus on painting it.

Large joints are provided at the fixing points of key parts such as the fuselage, intake block, and engine block to ensure stable assembly.
The cockpit reproduces the design from the TV version.
The canopy comes in two different cross-sectional shapes. You can choose between a type without a parting line in the center, or a type that reproduces the Ω-shaped cross-sectional shape typical of the aircraft.
Choose between J-type and A-type heads.
One seated pilot (TV version suit) is included.
The main wings move left and right in unison. The vector nozzle is movable.
