In 1975, the hugely popular Kamen Rider series, produced by Mainichi Broadcasting, brought Kamen Rider Amazon to a close after just 26 episodes. Around this time, the broadcasting network shifted from NET (now TV Asahi) to TBS in regions like Kanto. Kamen Rider Stronger marked the first entry under this new network—and ultimately became the final installment of the Showa Era's first phase of Kamen Rider.

(NET, meanwhile, filled the programming gap by launching a new tokusatsu legend: Himitsu Sentai Gorenger.)

This towel was created to commemorate Stronger’s 45th anniversary, but more notably, it marks the first time that Denpa Ningen Tackle—the fierce female warrior from the series—has ever been illustrated in the Yoshihito Sugawara Project, now in its 14th year.

Although Tackle fought bravely alongside Stronger and held a position similar to Riderman in Kamen Rider V3, she was never officially given the title of “Kamen Rider.” As a result, she has been historically absent from the official Rider lineup and never included in group visuals or tribute pieces.

Yet, for those of us who grew up watching the show in real-time, her courageous battles and tragic end left an indelible mark. I count myself among that generation, and it was from that personal connection that I proposed this project.

Launching the towel series in time with Stronger’s 45th anniversary felt like fate—a chance to preserve her legacy and pass her story to the next generation through a heartfelt memorial product.

The structure of Kamen Rider Stronger was reminiscent of a road movie, chronicling the relentless battles of two warriors (and Tobei Tachibana). In this harsh journey, Tackle’s life was cut short, and peace never came to her in the story.

This product seeks to depict that unseen peaceful day, the one that never arrived for her. It shows Stronger and Tackle reflecting on their days of battle, and is imbued with a quiet sense of repose and remembrance.

Visually, it follows the "Aishuu Series" (Melancholy Series), serving as a companion piece to the previously released V3/Riderman bath towel. For those who own both, displaying them side-by-side may offer a poignant tribute to the unsung heroes of the Kamen Rider legacy.
